Overview
With its solid tonewoods, slender neck, tone-enhancing bracing and alluring shaded edgeburst top, the 414ce Studio SEB serves up a pro-quality playing experience at a more accessible price point for everyday musicians. Solid Indian rosewood back and sides generate lush overtones, pristine trebles and a rich low-end character, while the torrefied Sitka spruce top adds bold projection and a dash of additional warmth and aged-in sweetness. Inside, our V-Class bracing dials up more volume, longer sustain and improved pitch accuracy, making this Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric guitar an excellent choice for live play, songwriting and recording applications in virtually any playing style. Sleek, striking visual details like the burst top and gloss-finish body round out the appointment package for the 414ce Studio SEB, offering a stage-ready look to complement its rich voice.
The Taylor 414ce Studio SEB Grand Auditorium offers the same high-performance tonewood pairing of solid Sitka spruce and Indian rosewood as the standard 414ce, but it distinguishes itself through a range of refined, minimalist aesthetic and component differences designed to make it more accessible without sacrificing core quality. One of the key visual differences is the binding—while the standard 414ce features white binding, the 414ce Studio opts for chamfered edges with black binding, giving it a sleeker, more understated look. The fretboard inlays shift from the 414ce’s Small Diamonds to simpler Italian acrylic Dots, and the peghead inlay is removed entirely, favoring a clean headstock design. The Studio SEB also uses Taylor’s chrome tuning machines instead of the standard model's nickel tuners. Overall, the 414ce Studio prioritizes tonal excellence and playability while trimming ornamental elements and hardware upgrades, offering a more affordable entry into the 400 Series with the same tonal DNA.
